Photographs taken during filming of Toxic Soup, a feature length doc by Rory Delaney. Chemical industry, destructive coal mining, radioactive oil fields, ingrained corruption and health and societal price we pay for the status quo we have today.
 
             
2008, Martha and Red Bush towns in eastern Kentucky. After 70-80 years of oil exploration by Ashland Oil land and ground water are contaminated with radioactive byproducts. Federal, state and local authorities seem too passive, people - lost, cancers - all over.
 
             
American symbolism. Yankees, Confederates and a flag on every trailer. From Charlston gazette: "Post office needs a bigger flag, not a huge one, but bigger".
 
             
Perplexed by never ending pictorial communication (you might call it assault or visual pollution or an artform in it's own ugly right), I just started shooting it away.
